What is MLM Denial?
Are you having trouble getting people to buy your products and new members to join your down-line?
Are they treating you with the cold shoulder and dis-interest as if you were a salesperson?
Guess what, they are 100% right. You are a salesperson and a recruiter. It may very well be your cutsie-tootsie behavior that is keeping them at bay. They feel that you are hiding the true nature of your business and they do not want to have to do that to succeed. The bottom line is – the only one that thinks you are not selling and recruiting is you.
What Do You Get Paid To Do In MLM?
You get paid only for successfully leading a prospect through the 3 steps of prospecting, presenting and getting a decision.
Does your company pay you for just inviting, recommending or sharing? No!
Does your company pay you for just introducing the products & services and the opportunity? No, it does not!
You get paid for educating your prospect about the benefits your products provide and helping them make a decision to buy or work.
Sooner or later they have to pay money to reap the benefits – that is selling, is not it ?!
If you are building a marketing team – that is recruiting, is not it ?!
So, your job description – the tasks you perform – are selling and recruiting – got it!
Why All The Sugar Coating?
The MLM industry as a whole will avoid those two words like the plague because they have such negative connotations and stereotypes. So, why all the negativity? Because, amateur salespeople get pushy. They get that way for primarily two reasons; lack of prospects and lack of understanding of their true job. Poor prospecting or a lack of sufficient numbers of people to educate, puts them in conflict with their prospects. “I have to get you to buy this, because if you do not, I will not be able to pay my bills this month.” Therefore, they become selfishly motivated and pushy which the prospect picks up on, becomes nervous and suspicious, and moves away.
There Is Nothing Wrong With MLM Selling and Recruiting If Done Properly
In reality, are not doctors selling their time and services! Why do we “willfully” pay doctors for their time and expertise but without all the negativity? We answer their questions and we typically follow their instructions, because we view them as knowledgeable professionals, who have our best interests at heart. Similarly, our job is to have our prospects' best interests at heart which means to always use our product and opportunity knowledge to serve them best.
So What Is Our Job In MLM?
Our job, as network marketers, is to:
· Gain an understanding of the needs and wants of our prospects ,
· Use our advanced knowledge of the products and opportunity,
· To help them achieve their goals ,
· Through educating them, answering their questions appropriately and asking them for their decision,
· Without making them feel rushed or pushed or ill-served.
A famous selling cliché is:
People Do not Care How Much You Know, Until They Know How Much You Care!
If you truly believe in the value of your MLM's products and opportunity, than promote their benefits proudly and honestly, helping your prospect decide if it is a good solution for them .
